At the heart of our community initiative lies a commitment to inclusivity, fostering an environment that welcomes all children and parents. In our extensive research within the Special Educational Needs (SEN) community, we noted a significant concern: many parents responded negatively to the question of visiting a play café, citing reasons such as the potential for wasted trips due to their child needing time to acclimate, excessive noise, overcrowding, and insufficient space.
We believe that fear and stress should not hinder participation in our community. Therefore, we are excited to announce a fortnightly 90 minute session on a Tuesday at 3.30pm which will include the following features:
No Ticket Fee:
We invite you to attend without any payment for the first two sessions you attend, alleviating financial pressure should your child require several visits to adjust to the environment.
Sound Management:
We will actively work to minimise noise levels in the café by turning off music and reducing the use of louder kitchen equipment.
Limited Attendance:*
To create a more tranquil atmosphere, we will cap the number of attendees for each session.
We encourage you to download the ‘What to Expect’ guide, which will help you and your child familiarise yourselves with the experience we offer, from parking and entry to the layout of the space.
